Everwarm secure Insulation and Fabric Installer of the Year Award

GreenockAlumasc registered installer Everwarm has been awarded the ‘Insulation and Fabric Installer of the Year’ at the Scottish Regional Green Deal and ECO awards.

The award follows the refurbishment of over 300 non-traditional solid wall homes in Greenock using the Alumasc Swisslab External Wall Insulation System. The area had been identified as one in particular risk of fuel poverty, hence the decision was taken to insulate the properties and improve their external fabric.

The project included mixed tenure properties and Everwarm was able to combine and maximise a number of funding streams to allow all residents to participate in the improvement programme regardless of tenure.

The project was a collaborative effort between Everwarm, managing agent Wise Group, River Clyde Homes who owned may of the properties which benefitted from the works and Inverclyde Council. The collaboration highlighted Everwarm’s ability to deliver such transformational refurbishment projects, ensuring the scheme was a great success,

Greenock2Speaking of the award, Business Development Manager for Scotland Lorraine Dunsire said, “I’d like to congratulate Everwarm on winning this award on what is an excellent project in Greenock.

As an Alumasc registered contractor they have undergone comprehensive training both in-house and on-site and have helped thousands of homes and businesses save energy consumption.”

Kenny Saunders, Commercial Director with Everwarm added, “We were delighted to work with Alumasc on this award winning project and we look forward to working with Alumasc on future developments.”

The Swisslab EWI System improves thermal performance, eliminates cold bridging, condensation and mould growth and protects the structural fabric of the building.  Primarily suited to building refurbishment where the structure provides continuous support for the insulation, the system is fully weather resistant whilst remaining vapour permeable and allows the fabric of the building to act as a heat store, increasing energy efficiency thus reducing energy bills.

The homes were finished with a Polymer Dashing Renderwhich is a durable, lightweight alternative to traditional sand and cement, with increased bond strength.
