Wimbledon’s five Championship Trophies are not the only metalwork being admired at this year’s legendary tennis tournament.

Players and fans alike continue to marvel at the much-celebrated retractable roof, which was constructed using Alumasc’s Skyline soffit system for the underside canopy of the stadium bowl. 6000 individual soffit modules were supplied, in 80 varying profiles and sizes, totalling an impressive 6500m² of aluminium and associated fittings – one of Alumasc’s largest rainwater product installations to date.

Throughout the construction process, Alumasc provided extensive levels of client support and technical assistance, including design consultation, regular site visits, and the supply of product mock-ups prior to manufacture. In addition to fully bespoke systems, Skyline is also available in four generic fascia configurations, manufactured in BBA approved polyester powder coated aluminium. Available in any standard RAL colour, it offers a virtually maintenance-free installation for the lifetime of a building.
